Japanese Tea Ceremony (Chanoyu)

JASSC member Bea Brecht will be our tea ceremony sensei. Bea will talk about the history and equipment of the Japanese tea ceremony besides the preparation and presentation of matcha, powdered green tea. Guests will learn how to appreciate the equipment and tea. Matcha and sweets will be served.

Message from Bea:
It will be presented in three sections.
1. I will demonstrate a basic Tea Ceremony and talk about it as I go.
2. Then talk about the history of the Tea Ceremony.
3. I will also discuss the etiquette of how to receive and drink the tea.
